Rob Sigona,
our respected produce buyer is up way before the first rooster
crows. He samples his way through a small city of produce stacked
higher than the eye can see, picking only the sweetest, freshest
boxes to be sold just hours later at the store. As the sun rises,
Rob's next stop is the small local farmer, who grows that rare,
blue-ribbon quality that is usually reserved for family, state fairs
and now, Sigona's!
The three brothers have indeed come a long way since 1975, when
they opened their first fruit stand along Highway 101, just north
of Morgan Hill. CA.
Today, Sigona's Farmers Market is a dizzying array of variety and
fragrant, overflowing displays of fresh fruit, just-picked vegetables
and unique gourmet items. This festive atmosphere is rivaled only
by the friendly service and abundance of complimentary samples that,
on a busy day, makes it impossible to steer a shopping cart in a
straight line.
Visit Sigona's Farmers Market, where the flavors of the world are
introduced regularly, friendships are made over the tomato display,
and quality is a way of life. [END]
